Worst case: you may have to copy the files over from a windows PC with an origin version of the sims installed, similar to adding Mods/Save games. I did have to keep the game running while I waited but that’s a small price to pay. Locate the steam version of the sims, click it to open the game details, and download the DLC (I just queued them all up and origin worked its way through them). From there you can change your settings (if you want) and then go to you game library. This should open the origin window so you can actually use it. Medium Luck / What I did: Just as origin launches, when you open the game from steam, try to open the “Origin” menu in the top left and go to “Application Settings” (may take a couple of tries to get right). Lucky you: According to some (windows) guides, origin will automatically download your packs and install them. When you load the game, origin will open in the background (this is where luck comes into play). The first time you open the game from steam you will be prompted to install origin. You will need to buy the base game from steam but if you can get it during a sale, it shouldn’t be too expensive. If you’re lucky, this may be fairly simple If you’re less lucky, it may be a massive pain. Get DLC, Mods, and Save Games working on Linux
